Since 9 March 2026 the Australian adult site landscape has changed. Pornhub and other Aylo-owned tubes left rather than verify. Some platforms added third-party face or ID scans for Australian users on first visit. Some, mostly paid membership sites, were already verifying through billing and didn't need to add anything. Below is what Australian adults 18 and over can still use, organised by access flow.
Paid memberships that operate without third-party scans
Age verification on these sites happens through billing, the same way every paid adult site has done it for decades. No separate face scan or ID upload before you see the library.
Real Australian women, shot in Melbourne since 2004. Paid membership, billing-verified, no separate face or ID scan. Our top recommendation for Australian adults in 2026.
Visit GirlsOutWest โNatural, intimate content featuring Australian women since 2000. The studio is now based in Amsterdam, but the performer base is still mostly Australian. Paid membership, billing-verified, no separate face or ID scan. Exceptional archive depth and consistent quality.
Visit AbbyWinters โATK Galleria is a US-based natural and amateur paysite that operates as a standard paid membership for Australian users. Billing-verified, no separate face or ID scan.
Visit ATK Galleria โMet-Art is artistic nude and erotic photography, run as a paid membership site. Tour pages don't show explicit content, the library opens only after credit card signup. The trial is one dollar for a day's full access.
Visit Met-Art โLive cams
Live cam access in Australia now requires a face scan or ID upload through a third-party verification provider on first visit. Whether you accept that step is a personal call, and not one we push either way.
Chaturbate is the live cam platform we cover. Australian access now requires a one-off face scan or government ID upload through a third-party verification provider before you can view streams. Once that's done, the platform is the same global cam site it always was, with thousands of live performers including a meaningful Australian and New Zealand contingent.
Visit Chaturbate โSites blocked entirely
These sites have blocked all Australian users.
| Site | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Pornhub | Aylo | Blocked, Australian IPs |
| RedTube | Aylo | Blocked, Australian IPs |
| YouPorn | Aylo | Blocked, Australian IPs |
| Tube8 | Aylo | Blocked, Australian IPs |
Why some sites blocked and others didn't
The Online Safety Act came into effect on 9 March 2026. Adult platforms operating in Australia have to verify the age of their users. Companies responded in three ways:
Option 1, Block: Aylo blocked all Australian IP addresses for Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn and Tube8 rather than implement verification. Their stated reason is that age verification creates privacy risks: users have to upload ID to third-party providers with their own data security questions. That's a defensible position, and one a lot of privacy-conscious adults share. The practical result is the same either way: these sites don't load.
Option 2, Third-party scan: Cam platforms like Chaturbate set up a face or ID scan via a third-party verification provider on first visit. You can still get in, after the scan.
Option 3, Existing billing verification: Paid membership sites like GirlsOutWest, AbbyWinters, ATK Galleria and Met-Art already verified age through billing. The new codes did not require them to add a separate face or ID scan, and they've kept working as they always did.
Is it legal to watch adult content in Australia in 2026?
Yes. Watching adult content is completely legal for adults aged 18 and over in Australia. The new laws regulate how sites verify ages, they don't ban adult content. Pornhub isn't blocked because adult content is illegal, it's blocked because Aylo chose not to implement age verification for Australian users.
What this page doesn't cover
This page does not list bypass routes. The internet is full of those. Whether the new codes get the balance right between protecting kids and respecting adult privacy is a debate worth having, just not one we run on this page. What we cover is the editorial shortlist of adult sites Australian adults 18 and over can use under the current rules.
Frequently asked questions
Will Pornhub come back to Australia?
Unknown. Aylo has re-entered other markets after initially blocking them, so it's possible. No confirmed plans for Australia as of May 2026.
What is age verification, and how does it work in Australia?
Age verification is a check that confirms the user is 18 or over before they access adult content. The Online Safety Act asks adult platforms operating in Australia to run such a check. Different platforms responded in different ways: paid membership sites verify through billing, Chaturbate now runs a face or ID scan via a third-party provider on first visit, and Aylo declined to participate and blocked Australian users instead.
How do you choose which adult sites to cover on Aussie Girls Blog?
We cover sites that meet four criteria: filmed in Australia or featuring mostly Australian performers, run as a real paid membership or properly age-verified platform rather than an anonymous user-upload tube, performers paid and contracted with signed releases, and a track record we have reviewed first-hand. Sites that do not clear all four do not appear here, even if they are currently accessible from Australia.
How do I report illegal or non-consensual content in Australia?
Report it to the eSafety Commissioner at esafety.gov.au/report. eSafety handles take-down requests for image-based abuse, child sexual abuse material, and other harmful online content, and refers matters to the Australian Federal Police where required.
How often is this page updated?
We check every site listed here weekly and update this page whenever the status of any site changes. The last check was 6 May 2026.
